About The Kodiak Aircraft Company
The transaction he completed on October 1, 2019, after which Quest was acquired by Kodiak Aircraft and became part of the company. No matter how big your luxury sports car is, even if it's been spent on a 37 and has a nice big roof, it doesn't compare to the Kodiak 900.
The Kodiak 900 is a high-speed turboprop aircraft that can take off from less than 1200 feet and can fly up to 1300 miles (1129 nautical miles) in tanks at 12,000 feet and maintaining a ground speed of 180 mph (156 knots). Flying at a maximum airspeed of 242 mph (210 knots), he can travel 1115 miles between charges. You can set it up any way you want, from seating for 10 people and all gear, no bikes, to 2 people, 2 bikes and a week's worth of gear. It can take off with approximately 8,000 pounds of fuel, passengers and luggage. It can be used for a weekend getaway or a quick getaway if civilization goes all the way south.
Kodiak 900 is a new way to watch and consume entertainment. It can be used in commercial ways or for NGO projects such as Doctors Without Borders, UNICEF, Red Cross. These projects often land in tight spaces with lots of merchandise.
The Kodiak 900 can land on grass and gravel, but can land on most hills.
Simworks Studios Releases Quest Kodiak For Msfs
"In car terms, you're a car reporter, so the Kodiak 100 is like a Jeep Wrangler. It's built to be a wild car. It's designed to go anywhere. Designed, but still with some modern aircraft modifications.” Mark Brown, the pilot of the day, is chief pilot and sales and marketing director for Daher Aerospace, which made it Kodiak. “This Kodiak 900 is like a high-end luxury SUV, like a Cadillac Escalade. There is some tradition in being able to do things off-road. You can land on grass, you can land on gravel. It can land on a , but it doesn't.The Kodiak 100 can land on a gravel pile in Alaska. In fact, it doesn't even need a runway."
Located at the Catalina Island empty airport, he's one of the places you can go with the Kodiak 900.
For my purposes, I showed up at Van Nuys Airport, a place with more jets, citations, and Dassaults per square foot than anywhere else in the United States. Sandwiched between the G650 and the Falcon 8X is the rugged-looking little Kodiak 900, the pitbull of aviation. I met the pilot Brown and he gave me his 900 rounds.
He has one turbine that powers five hydro turbines. This is the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-140A producing 900 hp, 150 hp more than the Kodiak 100's Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34. Tractor 502XP (world's best crop duster), and Thrush 510P2+ (powerful crop duster). P&W publications say the engine will give him 4000 hours between upgrades, but depending on performance he can extend it to 8000 hours (or 12 years).

Pratt & Whitney said of the PT6A-140A:
Similarly, the Kodiak 900 Wing System includes stall-preventing cuffs and other spin-preventing design features. In fact, this same design was used on his ICON A5 flying wing several years ago. The pilot turned the stick and professionally held his Rotax engine at full throttle to show you. He couldn't stop the train.
Look at the dash: the perfect Christmas tree on motorized screens. Avionics includes Garmin G1000 NXi integrated avionics suite, GFC 700 autopilot, dual GPS and more. See Kodiak.aero for the full list.
So when I climbed the ladder to his 45-inch door ceiling on the pilot's side, I felt very safe. Once it was secured to the 4-point harness, I could see the dashboard. Electric Christmas tree. The turbine immediately started to move, and before I knew it, I flew over runway 16L and flew over Los Angeles. To avoid the skies around LAX, heading northwest he warms at Pt. So the plane turned left and headed for the airport above Catalina Island. The Kodiak 900 was quiet (I never took off my headphones, by the way) and didn't vibrate. However, when I put my elbow on the window frame, I didn't feel any vibration at all.
The ICON A5 aims to revolutionize flying: we tested it on the Jetson ONE for $92,000 'Flying Sports Car' Sure, the HondaJet looks nice, but does it have VTEC?
About half an hour later, Brown killed the pilot and safely landed the plane. A short cab ride, we parked quickly and ate a handful of local Buffalo specials like a big ticket for airfare.
An example of the peace and solitude you can get with a flight like this, as the airport is not very open that day. Throw a dart on the map and fly there. Wherever you download, you have it all to yourself. Summer is hot? Climb mountain. Is it cold in winter? go to the desert Go hiking in Jackson Hole. Enjoy the sun at Palm He Springs.

He soon fired a PT6A-140A and climbed to an altitude of 7500 feet, but the pilot was caught just before he got there. I looked down and saw a group of dolphins swimming in the sea. Or maybe you're trying to avoid killing fish. Hard to say. If I had owned this plane, I could have gone to investigate. The FAA doesn't care how small you fly over the ocean.
Return to Pt. Then I had to take control. (Yippee!) It's slower to respond than smaller planes I've flown before, like a Cessna 172 or his ICON A5, but faster than a Ford Trimotor I've flown once. You have to time your movements to pick up the slack and perform them confidently. The yoke was solid and had a bit of a unique feel to it, but I didn't really get enough seat time to compare.I think the controls were perfect.
Approaching runway 16R at Van Nuys, the longest of his two runways at VNY, it was nice to have Brown come over to take over. Brown landed on the ground again at what appeared to be only 200 feet, albeit much longer. The windshield changes sound on command, and with a blower on the front instead of the rear, it acts like a giant air brake on him.
Shortly after disembarking, I realized with a sudden sadness that this was not my flight. Brown flew to Chino and then to Scottsdale to meet potential owners, people they could think of.
